STUDY OF THE UNITED STATES INSTITUTES (SUSI) FOR STUDENT LEADERS 2011 SUMMER PROGRAMS

SUSI for Student Leaders on New Media and Politics:
Participants are expected to be highly motivated and exemplary undergraduate students from colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher education. While all candidates will have a strong interest in new media and politics, their fields of study might vary, and can include disciplines such as Graphic Design, History and Government, Information Technology or Computer Science, Foreign Policy, International Affairs, Journalism, Literature, Media, Photography, and Public Relations. The Institute will take place over the course of five weeks from approximately June 25 to July 30, 2011, and will be hosted by Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.

SUSI for Student Leaders on Global Environmental Issues:
Participants are expected to be highly motivated and exemplary undergraduate students from colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher education. While all candidates will have a strong interest in the environment, their fields of study might vary, and can include disciplines such as Agriculture, Biology, Ecotourism, Engineering, Environmental Law, Environmental Science, International Affairs, Public Policy, and Sustainable Development. The Institute will take place over the course of five weeks from approximately July 2 to August 6, 2011, and will be hosted by the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana.

General Qualifications:
- Be fluent in English;
- Be 18 and 25 years of age or younger;
- Have completed at least one semester of university and have at least one semester of coursework remaining in their university studies;
- Be committed to returning home to complete their degree;
- Demonstrate strong leadership qualities;
- Indicate a serious interest in learning about the United States;
- Have a sustained high level of academic achievement, as indicated by grades, awards, and teacher recommendations;
- Have demonstrated commitment to community and extracurricular university activities;
- Have had little or no prior study or travel experience in the United States or elsewhere outside of their home country;
- Be mature, responsible, independent, confident, open-minded, tolerant, thoughtful, and inquisitive;
- Be willing and able to fully participate in an intensive academic program, community service, and educational travel;
- Be comfortable with campus life, prepared to share living accommodations, and able to make adjustments to cultural and social practices different from those of their home country;
- Students with limited or no prior travel or study in the U.S. will be given preference.

All candidates must submit a complete application according to the attached format and translate all information into English. Please note that submitting a CV alone is not adequate for application purposes.

Sub: Government of India scholarships for pursuing higher studies in India
Excellency,
I am pleased to inform you that, as in previous years, the Government of India have announced scholarships to Indonesian students/researchers for pursuing higher studies in Universities in India. The scholarships are offered through the General Cultural Scholarship Scheme (GCSS) administered by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi for the academic year 2011-2012.
2.
A copy of the Application Booklet, which also contains guidelines for the students for filling in the forms, as also a Scholarship Information Brochure, is enclosed. It may kindly be noted that the University courses in India generally commence in June/July or later.
3.
Scholarships offered in listed Universities are at the Under-Graduate, PostGraduate
and doctoral levels and cover subjects in the arts, architecture, literature, commerce and science. Degree courses in engineering, pharmacy and agriculture, and doctoral and post-doctoral courses in various disciplines can also be pursued.
4.
The scholarship covers all tuition fees and other mandatory fees, besides a monthly living allowance and annual contingent grant, accommodation charges, and other benefits, including expenses on medical treatment and study tours. However, air passages to India and back are excluded. Terms and Conditions of the ICCR Scholarships are detailed in the enclosed Scholarship Information Brochure.
5.
Students admitted to Indian universities under ICCR scholarships will be endorsed Student Visas for the entire duration of their study on gratis basis and the processing of such visas normally take only two days. However, students seeking admission to M.Phil, Ph.D and higher studies will require Research Visas, processing of which may take a little longer period.
6.
The medium of instruction is English and applications from only those candidates who have a reasonable good command over spoken and written English may be forwarded. The Embassy will conduct an English language test on Friday. 4th February. 2011 for those who have been short listed from among all applicants after scrutiny of their documents.
7.
The application forms may be filled in as per the guidelines enclosed and forwarded to the Education Wing of the Embassy at JI. HR Rasuna Said, Kav.S1, Kuningan, Jakarta Selatan latest by Friday, January 21! 2011.
8.
You are requested to kindly widely publicize the offer among interested candidates in the Indonesian universities and educational institutions.
9.
You may also like to nominate some meritorious students for award of scholarships, who may submit their applications with your recommendation letter.

saya sangat ingin pergi keluar negeri dan mendapatkan pengalaman yang luar biasa disana. Delapan Tipe Orang Perlu Dijauhi

1. Memelihara masa lalu

Beberapa orang menolak melepaskan masa lalu dan cenderung 'merawat' kenangan menyakitkan. Akibatnya, orang ini hidup dengan kemarahan dan kepahitan. Bila terjadi terus menerus, dapat mempengaruhi orang yang berada di sekitarnya.

Solusi: Jika mereka mulai memunculkan subjek masa lalu, jangan ragu memberitahu dia bahwa Anda tidak ingin membicarakannya.

2. Mengasihani diri sendiri

Tidak ada yang lebih menjengkelkan daripada orang yang merasa menanggung beban seluruh dunia. Alih-alih mencari solusi, orang tipe ini terus mengasihani diri sendiri dan tidak melihat jalan keluar.



Solusi: Tawarkan bantuan dan jika masih tidak mau berubah, sebaiknya menjauh darinya.

3. Munafik

Tidak ada yang lebih menjengkelkan daripada berhubungan dengan orang yang memiliki sifat 'lain di mulut lain di hati'. Di depan Anda, dia muncul orang yang paling manis, namun bersikap sebaliknya di belakang Anda.

Solusi: Jika Anda menangkap ini terjadi berulangkali kepada orang lain, segera jauhi. Bukan tidak mungkin dia melakukan hal serupa kepada Anda.

4. Selalu negatif

Dia adalah jenis orang yang selalu memandang hal negatif dari hidup mereka.

Solusi: Bantulah melihat sisi positif dari dirinya. Jika tidak mau menerima, jangan biarkan hal negatif itu mempengaruhi Anda.

5. Paling sempurna

Orang seperti ini biasanya merasa lebih baik dan menarik daripada orang lain. Ia sangat menikmati aktivitas mengkritik dan menertawai orang lain.

Solusi: Bersikap sabar dengan perilakunya. Namun, jika mereka tidak berubah, sudah saatnya Anda untuk meninggalkannya.

6. Bangga mengumbar rahasia

Mereka sangat bangga menceritakan skandal dalam hidup dan senang melibatkan sebanyak mungkin orang dalam perdebatan.

Solusi: Bisa saja Anda dapat mendengarkannya. Namun bila mempengaruhi diri sendiri, segera menjauh.

7. Frustasi

Orang ini selalu merasa frustrasi dengan hidupnya dan melampiaskannya pada orang lain di sekitarnya. Bahkan, seringkali mereka mengambil kesimpulan yang irasional.

Solusi: Jika ia mulai merencanakan sesuatu yang gila katakan bahwa hal itu mengganggu Anda.

8. Sang Komentator

Orang seperti ini mengomentari semua yang terjadi dalam kehidupan orang lain. Seringkali, perkataan mereka menimbulkan perkelahian.

Solusi: Berhati-hatilah bila berada di sekitar orang tersebut dan berhati-hati dengan perkataan Anda.
